Unleash the Maverick R engine's potential

The Evolution Powersports (EVP) HFI High Flow Intake kit has been developed to improve airflow to the Can-Am Maverick R and reduce the restrictions present with the stock airbox.

The stock Donaldson-style intake offers good filtration, but its architecture becomes restrictive as the engine's air requirements increase. The relatively short duct between the airbox and the turbo also does not allow for sufficient airflow stabilization before it enters the compressor.

The EVP HFI – High Flow Intake kit improves the flow and quality of the air reaching the turbo, allowing for increased efficiency and power potential.

🚀 Up to +23 hp in tests

The improvement in flow becomes especially significant as engine speed and air requirements increase.

During tests carried out with an X85 DCT+ tune, the HFI kit achieved up to:

+23 hp at 9,000 RPM

compared to the stock airbox.

The difference stems notably from reduced restrictions and more consistent airflow to the turbocharger.

⚠️ This result was obtained on a competition version of the X85 tune, with increased maximum RPM and shift points. The vehicle was also equipped with a full EVP exhaust. Therefore, this is not a guaranteed gain on a stock Maverick R.

💨 Optimized airflow to the turbo

The stock intake system uses a short duct between the airbox and the turbocharger.

This configuration can generate turbulent airflow at the turbo inlet, reducing its efficiency.

The HFI kit uses an integrated Venturi system to channel and stabilize the airflow before it reaches the turbocharger.

Result:

✔ Reduced restrictions
✔ More consistent airflow
✔ Better turbocharger supply
✔ Improved turbo efficiency
✔ Faster turbo spool
✔ Higher power potential

🌬️ Filter positioned in a high-pressure zone

The HFI filter is installed in the high-pressure zone of the stock intercooler duct.

This position allows it to take advantage of the airflow entering this area to effectively supply the intake.

The system works equally well with:

✔ The stock roof air scoop

✔ A ventilated intercooler duct to the rear firewall

This architecture allows for a clean integration while considerably increasing intake capacity.

🏜️ High-performance filter with 2× more filter media

The air filter is manufactured in the USA specifically for Evolution Powersports by a specialist in off-road filtration.

It features approximately twice as much filter media as the stock filter.

This extra surface area allows for a combination of:

✔ Superior airflow
✔ Reduced restrictions
✔ High filtration capacity
✔ Suitable for dusty environments
✔ Better engine supply at high RPM

A pre-filter is also included in the kit.

💪 Oversized and reinforced silicone hose

The connection hose between the intake and the turbo is made of silicone reinforced with an internal metal structure.

It is also oversized to improve airflow.

This design allows it to retain its shape and prevent collapsing when the engine demands high airflow, even under severe operating conditions.

🔧 Integrated connections

The HFI system directly incorporates the connections necessary for engine operation.

It notably features:

✔ Connection for the valve cover breather

✔ Pressure recirculation connection

The assembly is designed as a complete kit with the brackets and hardware necessary for its installation.

⚙️ Compatible with stock and big turbos

The HFI kit has been tested with:

✔ The stock Maverick R turbocharger

✔ The EVP P47 turbo

It therefore constitutes an upgradeable intake that can be installed on a stock vehicle and then kept during a more extensive engine build.

➡️ The more the engine's air requirements increase with remapping, engine speed, or a turbo upgrade, the more important the reduction of intake restrictions becomes.

🔥 Compatible without remapping

The HFI kit can also be installed on a Maverick R with stock mapping, without necessarily requiring a remap.

The flow improvement and turbulence reduction remain present, although the most significant gains are obtained on configurations requiring more airflow.

🧹 Filter maintenance

Maintenance frequency must be adapted to operating conditions.

Cleaning is recommended approximately once a year or every 2,000 miles (approx. 3,200 km), with higher frequency for racing or very dusty environments.

Cleaning is performed using low-pressure compressed air, from the inside to the outside of the filter, in order to expel accumulated dust.
