The Evolution Powersports (EVP) Bad Ass reinforced belt is designed to offer more strength, grip, and reliability than the original belt on the Can-Am Maverick X3.
To develop its belts, EVP works directly with GBoost Technology, a specialist in CVT belts and systems. The various compounds are subjected to intensive testing, both within the EVP competition program and on their own high-horsepower Maverick X3s.
➡️ The goal: limit slippage, improve power transfer to the wheels, and withstand the high temperatures and stresses encountered in sporting or competitive use.
EVP offers two versions of its Bad Ass belt to tailor performance to the type of use.
The WB (World's Best) is the versatile version of the range.
Its performance in terms of engagement and operating RPM remains close to the OEM belt, while benefiting from a significantly reinforced construction.
It is particularly suitable for:
✔ Sport touring
✔ Intensive use
✔ Modified vehicles
✔ Versatile road/track/off-road use
✔ Customers looking for a reinforced belt without changing CVT behavior
➡️ This is the version I would recommend for the majority of Maverick X3s.
The Extreme (EX) is intended for particularly demanding applications and vehicles subjected to high loads.
It is the preferred alternative when priority is given to strength under severe conditions: aggressive driving, heavy loads, and heavy-duty use.
The WB version uses a 3rd generation high-twist aramid fiber reinforced cord.
This construction is specifically designed to support the significant tensile loads generated by high-horsepower engines.
It allows for:
✔ High tensile strength
✔ Better resistance to heavy acceleration
✔ Excellent resistance to sudden loads
✔ Better durability on modified vehicles
This design is capable of withstanding the stresses encountered on machines developing up to 400 hp.
A belt that slips converts part of the engine power into heat and belt dust rather than movement.
EVP states that the compounds used for the Bad Ass offer better grip than OEM belts, allowing power to be transferred to the ground more effectively.
✔ Less slippage
✔ Better grip in the pulleys
✔ More efficient power transmission
✔ Reduction of belt-generated dust
✔ Better resistance under heavy loads
The structure of the belt has also been crafted to maintain sufficient rigidity while allowing the flexibility necessary for its operation in the variator.
EVP highlights high rigidity under the cords, allowing the belt to maintain good rotation efficiency while promoting lower operating temperatures.
The belt is designed to withstand:
✔ High temperatures
✔ Repeated acceleration
✔ Heavy loads
✔ Shocks transmitted to the CVT
✔ Extreme use
On a powerful SSV, the belt is not only subjected to engine power.
Jump landings, sudden regain of traction, rock crawling, or aggressive acceleration can generate very high peak loads in the CVT transmission.
The reinforced construction of the Bad Ass is specifically designed to better withstand these stresses. EVP notes a higher shock load capacity for the WB version.
➡️ An especially interesting advantage for modified Maverick X3s used in competition.
Compatible with:
✔ Can-Am Maverick X3 2017+
✔ Can-Am Maverick X3 MAX 2017+
✔ Can-Am Maverick X3 900
✔ All X3 versions concerned
The belt replaces, among others, the following OEM Can-Am part numbers:
422280651
422280652
3-year limited warranty covering material or manufacturing defects under normal use.
⚠️ This is a warranty against manufacturing defects, not a warranty against normal wear or breakage due to misuse.
