The Evolution Powersports (EVP) Billet Aluminum Intake Manifold was developed to be a complete replacement for the stock plastic intake manifold/plenum on the 2024+ Can-Am Maverick R and Maverick R MAX.
Designed for both near-stock engines and builds equipped with a big turbo, it simultaneously improves boost circuit durability and air distribution between cylinders.
➡️ An especially interesting part for high-horsepower Maverick Rs, where the factory manifold begins to show its limitations.
The main feature of the EVP manifold is its internal dual-chamber design.
Air from the turbo first enters an upper chamber before being distributed to the main chamber and the various intake runners.
This architecture was developed to:
✔ Reduce turbulence
✔ Stabilize airflow under high pressure
✔ Balance pressure between cylinders
✔ Improve air distribution
✔ Optimize high-RPM performance
EVP used CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to analyze the factory manifold before developing its own geometry.
The Maverick R factory manifold is made of plastic.
As boost pressure increases, EVP has found that the airflow becomes more turbulent. This instability can lead to inconsistent air delivery from one cylinder to the next.
The plastic construction is also a limiting factor in terms of durability for heavily modified vehicles. EVP even offers a specific reinforcement kit to prevent the factory plenum from splitting at its seams.
➡️ With the billet manifold, EVP directly eliminates these two issues: mechanical strength and airflow management.
Development was not limited to the strength of the manifold.
EVP created various prototypes with different runner lengths to study their influence on the power curve.
On their 2024 Maverick R with a stock internal engine, equipped with a P47 Flex Fuel turbo kit running E85, EVP reports obtaining approximately:
with the short runners selected for the final version, compared to the stock plenum.
And most importantly, EVP indicates that this gain was achieved without any loss of low-end power.
⚠️ This gain corresponds to the EVP test configuration and does not constitute a guaranteed gain on all setups.
The manifold is entirely manufactured from CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum.
This construction allows for:
✔ Very high rigidity
✔ Excellent resistance to boost pressure
✔ Elimination of the risks of cracking or opening of the plastic manifold
✔ High assembly precision
✔ Exceptional engine bay finish
➡️ It is also a beautiful piece for builds where the aesthetics of the engine compartment matter just as much as the performance.
EVP designed its manifold to work with the factory 54mm Bosch throttle body.
However, the design also allows for the installation of a 60mm throttle body, thus leaving room for growth for more significant engine builds.
EVP retains the OEM intake manifold gasket at the cylinder head.
This choice specifically avoids the premature wear of certain O-rings during high-boost applications that require frequent disassembly.
The two chambers of the manifold are assembled with Viton/fluoroelastomer O-rings, selected for their resistance and durability.
The manifold features two 1/8" NPT ports allowing for the integration of various equipment.
They can be used for:
✔ Turbo boost pressure gauge
✔ Rising-rate fuel pressure regulator
✔ Sensor or accessory requiring a pressure source
➡️ A detail particularly appreciated on competition vehicles and big builds.
The kit includes:
✔ EVP 6061 billet aluminum intake manifold
✔ EVP silicone boost hose
✔ O-rings
✔ Black aluminum plug
✔ Titanium hardware
✔ 90° elbow fitting
✔ Intake manifold bracket
